AURÈCE VETTIER

aurèce vettier is an artistic project founded in 2019 by Paul Mouginot. His practice explores the relationships between artificial intelligence, personal memory, and fine craftsmanship. Using personal archives, the artist develops bespoke algorithms that allow him to transform these data into speculative images and narratives. This work is structured around two conceptual axes: sur-nature, where impossible botanical forms generated by AI emerge, and sur-reality, which recomposes dreams, memories, and everyday signs into symbolic landscapes. The images produced are then materialized through mediums anchored in the tradition of excellence in craftsmanship, notably Aubusson tapestry, bronze, pietra dura, painting, and NFTs, within a close dialogue with specialized artisans. This hybrid practice establishes a bridge between contemporary technologies and historical materialities. In 2025, his work was presented at the Musée d’Art Contemporain de Lyon (macLYON) in the exhibition Echos of the Past, Promises of the Future, as well as at the Jeu de Paume in the exhibition The World According to AI, and in artistic events organized with NVIDIA. Today, the works of aurèce vettier are featured in several major collections across Europe, Asia, and the United States.
